Adam grew up in Alpharetta, GA and has been in Colorado since 2007. Adam attended CSU and graduated in December 2012 with a B.S in Environmental Horticulture. While studying at CSU, he needed extra credit hours to maintain his status as a full-time student and decided to take the Open Water SCUBA course. He was immediately enraptured by the idea of diving and exploring our underwater world. Under the tutiledge of Kent Rychel (CSDA co-founder) Adam learned to love all things SCUBA: the diving, the underwater ecosystems, the equipment, and all things in between. From the very start Adam knew it was his goal to become an instructor and he moved to Roatan, Honduras for 4 months in order to gain experience diving and become a diving instructor. While in Honduras, Adam realized that his background in Horticulture lent itself well to studying coral reef health. He participated in coral monitoring and sampling while working as a Divemaster at Barefoot Divers in Roatan. Over the next few years Adam plans to participate in more coral reef research and go back to school for a Master’s Degree in Marine Biology.
When he is not dreaming about SCUBA, Adam is very eclectic with his interests. He plays bluegrass guitar and mandolin, is a competitive golfer, and loves working around his garden at home.
“I love SCUBA and can’t wait to share my passion with everyone I teach. LET'S GO DIVING!”
